Thailand visa for Papua New Guinea Nationals (Visa on Arrival)
Eligibility Requirements
Papua New Guinea nationals are eligible to apply for a visa on arrival in Thailand, provided they meet certain criteria. To be eligible, applicants must have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining from the date of entry into Thailand, and must have proof of onward or return travel arrangements.
In addition, applicants must also have sufficient funds to cover their stay in Thailand, as well as any other necessary documents such as hotel reservations or an invitation letter from a Thai citizen or resident.
Application Process
The application process for a visa on arrival is relatively straightforward. Upon arrival at the airport in Thailand, applicants must present their passport and completed application form to immigration officials. The application form can be obtained from the airline prior to departure or upon arrival at the airport.
Applicants must also pay a fee of 2,000 baht (approximately $65 USD) upon submission of their application form. Once approved, applicants will receive a visa sticker which will allow them to stay in Thailand for up to 15 days.
Validity Period
The visa on arrival is valid for 15 days from the date of issue and cannot be extended beyond this period. Applicants who wish to stay longer than 15 days must apply for a different type of visa before entering Thailand.
It is important to note that the visa on arrival is only valid for single entry into Thailand and cannot be used for multiple entries.
Thailand eVisa
For those who wish to avoid the hassle of applying for a visa on arrival, there is now an alternative option – the Thailand eVisa. The eVisa is an electronic travel authorization which allows travelers from eligible countries to enter and stay in Thailand for up to 30 days.
