Types of Visas
Australian citizens can apply for a visitor visa, work visa, or student visa. A visitor visa allows you to stay in New Zealand for up to nine months, while a work visa allows you to work in the country for up to two years. eTA New Zealand

Requirements
In order to be eligible for an eTA or visa, you must meet certain requirements set by Immigration New Zealand. These include having a valid passport from Australia, being able to prove that you have enough funds to support yourself during your stay in New Zealand, and providing proof of onward travel.
You must also be able to demonstrate that you are not a risk to the security or public health of New Zealand by providing police clearance certificates from any countries where you have lived in the past five years.
Fees
The cost of an eTA or visa depends on the type of document you are applying for and how long it is valid for. Generally speaking, an eTA costs NZD$12 while a visitor visa costs NZD$35-NZD$140 depending on how long it is valid for.
It is important to note that fees are non-refundable even if your application is denied.
