US visa for Taiwanese
Overview
Taiwanese citizens are eligible to apply for a US visa if they meet certain criteria. The type of visa you need depends on the purpose of your trip, such as business, tourism, or study. Generally speaking, all applicants must submit an online application form and attend an interview at a US embassy or consulate in Taiwan.
The US Department of State has established a USA ESTA program that allows eligible travelers from Taiwan to visit the United States without having to obtain a visa. However, this program is only available for short-term visits (up to 90 days).
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a US visa, you must meet certain criteria. These include: being a Taiwanese citizen with a valid passport; having no criminal record; and having sufficient funds to cover your stay in the United States.
You must also demonstrate that you have strong ties to Taiwan and that you intend to return after your visit. This can be done by providing evidence such as proof of employment or property ownership in Taiwan.
Documents Required
When applying for a US visa, you will need to provide certain documents as part of your application. These include: a valid passport; two recent passport-sized photographs; proof of financial support; and any other documents required by the US embassy or consulate.
You may also be asked to provide additional documents depending on the type of visa you are applying for.
Application Process
The first step in applying for a US visa is to complete an online application form and pay the applicable fee. Once your application has been submitted, you will be contacted by the US embassy or consulate in Taiwan to arrange an interview.
At the interview, you will be asked questions about your background and reasons for wanting to visit the United States. You may also be asked to provide additional documents or information at this time.
