Types of Visas
Qatar offers several types of visas for visitors, including tourist visas, business visas and transit visas. Tourist visas are valid for up to 30 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days. Business visas are valid for up to 90 days and can also be extended. Transit visas are valid for up to 96 hours and cannot be extended.
The most common type of visa is the tourist visa, which allows visitors to stay in Qatar for up to 30 days. Business visas are typically used by those travelling on business trips or attending conferences or meetings in Qatar. Transit visas are usually used by those who are passing through Qatar on their way to another destination.
Requirements
In order to apply for a visa, applicants must meet certain requirements. These include having a valid passport with at least six months validity remaining, proof of sufficient funds to cover the duration of the stay in Qatar and a return ticket or onward ticket.
Applicants may also be required to provide additional documents such as a letter from their employer or sponsor, hotel reservation confirmation or invitation letter from a host in Qatar.
Application Process
The application process for a Qatar visa is relatively straightforward. Applicants can apply online via the Qatar eVisa, which is quick and easy. Alternatively, they can apply in person at their nearest embassy or consulate.
Once the application has been submitted, it will take approximately three working days for it to be processed. Once approved, applicants will receive an email notification with their visa attached as a PDF file.
Fees
The cost of a Qatar visa varies depending on the type of visa and length of stay.
Tourist visas cost between $50 – $100 USD depending on the length of stay, while business visas cost between $100 – $200 USD depending on the length of stay.
