What is a New Zealand Visa?
A New Zealand visa is an official document that allows foreign nationals to enter, stay and work in the country. Depending on your nationality, you may need to apply for a visa before travelling to New Zealand.

Once your application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by Immigration New Zealand. They will assess whether or not you meet the requirements for entry into the country. If approved, they will issue an electronic travel authority (eTA) which allows you to travel to New Zealand without applying for a physical visa sticker in your passport.
eTA New Zealand
An eTA is an electronic travel authority that allows travellers from certain countries to enter New Zealand without applying for a physical visa sticker in their passport. To apply for an eTA, simply fill out the online application form at eTA New Zealand. Once approved, your eTA will be valid for two years or until your passport expires – whichever comes first.
It is important to note that an eTA does not guarantee entry into New Zealand – it only authorises travel to the country. Upon arrival in New Zealand, immigration officers may ask additional questions or request further documentation before allowing entry into the country.
