New Zealand visa for UK citizens
Types of Visas
There are several types of visas available for UK citizens travelling to New Zealand. The most common type is the Visitor Visa, which allows you to stay in the country for up to nine months. If you plan on staying longer than this, you may need to apply for a Work Visa. Other types of visas include Student Visas, Business Visas and Residence Visas.
It is important to note that all visitors must have an Electronic Travel Authority (eTA) before they can enter New Zealand. An eTA is an online application that must be completed prior to travel and is valid for two years. To apply for an eTA New Zealand, please visit eTA New Zealand.
Requirements
In order to be eligible for a visa, UK citizens must meet certain requirements set by the New Zealand government. These include having a valid passport with at least six months validity remaining, proof of sufficient funds to cover your stay in the country and evidence of onward travel arrangements.
You may also need to provide additional documents such as medical certificates or police clearance certificates depending on the type of visa you are applying for.
Application Process
The application process for a New Zealand visa is relatively straightforward and can be done online via the Immigration New Zealand website. You will need to fill out an application form and provide supporting documents such as your passport, proof of funds and evidence of onward travel arrangements.
Once your application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by Immigration New Zealand and you will receive a decision within 10 working days.
Fees
The cost of a visa varies depending on the type of visa you are applying for and how long it is valid for. Generally speaking, visitor visas cost around NZD$165 while work visas cost around NZD$250.
It is important to note that these fees are non-refundable even if your application is unsuccessful.
