Types of Visas
New Zealand offers several types of visas for visitors, including tourist visas, work visas, and student visas. Depending on your purpose for visiting, you may need to apply for one of these visas in order to enter the country.

Visa Application Fees
In addition to the cost of the visa itself, there is also a fee for processing your application. This fee is non-refundable and varies depending on the type of visa you are applying for.
Tourist visas: The processing fee for tourist visas is NZ$50. Work visas: The processing fee for work visas is NZ$150. Student visas: The processing fee for student visas is NZ$200.
Additional Fees
In some cases, additional fees may be required when applying for a visa to New Zealand. These fees include:
- Medical examination fees:
If you are applying for a work or student visa, you may be required to undergo a medical examination as part of your application process. The cost of this exam varies depending on where it is conducted and what tests are required.
- Police clearance certificates:
If you have lived in another country within the last five years, you may be required to provide police clearance certificates from those countries as part of your application process. The cost of obtaining these certificates varies depending on the country.
- Translation services:
If any documents submitted with your application are not in English, they must be translated by an approved translation service provider before they can be accepted by Immigration New Zealand.
- Courier fees:
If you choose to have your passport returned by courier, there will be an additional fee charged by the courier company.
Payment Options
Visa application fees must be paid in full before your application can be processed. Payment can be made using credit card (Visa or MasterCard), debit card (Visa or MasterCard), or bank transfer (for certain countries only).
It is important to note that all payments must be made in New Zealand dollars (NZD). If payment is made in any other currency, it will not be accepted and your application will not be processed until full payment has been received in NZD.
