What is a New Zealand Tourist Visa?
A New Zealand Tourist Visa is a document that allows foreign nationals to visit New Zealand for up to nine months. It is issued by the Immigration New Zealand (INZ) and is valid for two years from the date of issue.
The visa allows visitors to stay in New Zealand for tourism, business or study purposes. It also allows them to work in certain industries, such as hospitality and agriculture, for up to three months.
Requirements
To be eligible for a New Zealand Tourist Visa, applicants must meet certain requirements. These include: being 18 years of age or older; having a valid passport; having sufficient funds to support themselves during their stay; and not having any criminal convictions.
Applicants must also provide evidence of their travel plans, such as flight tickets and hotel bookings, as well as proof of medical insurance.
Application Process
The application process for a New Zealand Tourist Visa is relatively straightforward. Applicants must first complete an eTA New Zealand, which is an online form that requires basic personal information such as name, address and passport details.
Once the form has been completed, applicants must submit it along with supporting documents such as passport photos and proof of travel plans. The application will then be reviewed by INZ and a decision will be made within 10 working days.
Fees
The cost of a New Zealand Tourist Visa varies depending on the type of visa applied for and the length of stay. Generally speaking, the fee ranges from NZD$165 – NZD$235.
Applicants may also be required to pay additional fees if they require assistance with their application or if they wish to extend their visa beyond its initial validity period.
