Mexico Visa Requirements
Chinese citizens are required to obtain a visa before travelling to Mexico. The type of visa you will need depends on the purpose of your trip, such as tourism, business or study. All visas require a valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining from the date of entry into Mexico.
In addition, you may be required to provide additional documents such as proof of financial means, return ticket, hotel reservation and invitation letter from a Mexican resident or company.
Mexico Visa Application Process
The application process for a Mexico visa is relatively straightforward. You must first complete an online application form and submit it along with the required documents. Once your application has been approved, you will receive an email notification with instructions on how to pay the visa fee.
Once the payment has been made, you can collect your visa from the nearest Mexican consulate or embassy. Alternatively, you can apply for a Mexico FMM, which is an electronic travel authorization that allows you to enter Mexico without having to apply for a traditional visa.
Validity Period
The validity period of a Mexico visa varies depending on the type of visa and purpose of travel. Generally speaking, tourist visas are valid for up to 180 days while business visas are valid for up to 90 days.
It is important to note that all visas must be used within 180 days from the date of issue.
Extension of Stay
If you wish to extend your stay in Mexico beyond the validity period of your visa, you must apply for an extension at least 30 days before your current visa expires.
You must also provide evidence that you have sufficient funds to cover your stay in Mexico during this extended period.
