What is a Malawi Visa?
A Malawi visa is an official document issued by the government of Malawi that allows foreign nationals to enter and stay in the country for a certain period of time. Depending on your nationality, you may be required to obtain a visa before entering Malawi.

Visa Requirements
In order to get a Malawi visa at the border, you must meet certain requirements. These include having a valid passport with at least six months validity remaining, two passport-sized photographs, proof of sufficient funds for your stay in Malawi, and proof of onward travel.
You may also be required to provide additional documents such as an invitation letter from someone in Malawi, proof of accommodation, and evidence of medical insurance.
Application Process
If you meet all the requirements, you can apply for a Malawi visa at the border. The application process is usually straightforward and can take up to several hours depending on the number of people applying.
You will be asked to fill out an application form and submit it along with your supporting documents. Once your application has been approved, you will be issued with a visa sticker which must be affixed onto your passport.
Malawi eVisa
If you don’t want to wait in line at the border, there is another option available – applying for a Malawi eVisa. An eVisa is an electronic travel authorization that allows eligible travelers to enter and stay in Malawi for up to 90 days.
Applying for an eVisa is easy and convenient – simply complete an online application form and submit it along with supporting documents such as your passport details and proof of payment. Once your application has been approved, you will receive your eVisa via email within 3-5 business days.
