Types of Ethiopia Visas
Ethiopia offers several types of visas for Filipino citizens, including tourist visas, business visas, and transit visas. Tourist visas are valid for up to 90 days and allow travelers to explore the country’s many attractions. Business visas are valid for up to 30 days and allow travelers to conduct business activities in Ethiopia. Transit visas are valid for up to 48 hours and allow travelers to pass through Ethiopia while en route to another destination.
Filipino citizens may also be eligible for an Ethiopia e-Visa, which is an electronic travel authorization that allows travelers to enter Ethiopia without having to apply for a traditional visa at an embassy or consulate. The e-Visa is valid for up to 90 days and can be obtained quickly and easily online at Ethiopia e-Visa.
Documents Required
Regardless of the type of visa you are applying for, all applicants must submit certain documents in order to be approved for a visa. These documents include a valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining, two recent passport-sized photographs, proof of sufficient funds, and proof of onward travel.
In addition, applicants may be asked to provide additional documents such as a letter of invitation from a host in Ethiopia, proof of medical insurance coverage, or evidence of employment or study in their home country.
Application Process
The application process for an Ethiopia visa varies depending on the type of visa you are applying for and your nationality. For example, Filipino citizens who wish to apply for an e-Visa must complete the online application form and submit it along with the required documents.
Once the application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by Ethiopian immigration authorities and applicants will receive notification via email within 3-5 business days regarding the status of their application.
Entry Requirements
Once your visa has been approved, you must meet certain entry requirements in order to enter Ethiopia. All travelers must present their passport with the approved visa upon arrival at any port of entry into Ethiopia.
Travelers must also have proof of sufficient funds (at least $100 per day) and proof of onward travel (such as a return ticket).
