Overview of Bahrain Visa Policy
Bahrain has a liberal visa policy that allows citizens from many countries to enter without a visa or obtain one upon arrival. Citizens from over 80 countries can enter Bahrain without a visa for up to 14 days, while citizens from other countries can obtain a visa on arrival for up to 30 days.
The Bahraini government also offers an electronic visa (eVisa) system for citizens from certain countries who wish to stay in the country for longer than 14 days. The eVisa is valid for up to 90 days and can be applied for online at eVisa Bahrain.
Types of Visas Available
There are several types of visas available in Bahrain, depending on the purpose of your visit: tourist visas, business visas, work visas, student visas, and family visas.
Tourist visas are valid for up to 30 days and can be obtained upon arrival or through the eVisa system. Business visas are valid for up to 90 days and must be applied for through the eVisa system. Work visas are valid for up to two years and must be applied for through the Ministry of Labour. Student visas are valid for up to one year and must be applied for through the Ministry of Education. Family visas are valid for up to two years and must be applied for through the Ministry of Interior.
Requirements
In order to apply for any type of visa in Bahrain, applicants must meet certain requirements such as having a valid passport with at least six months validity remaining, proof of sufficient funds, proof of accommodation in Bahrain, and a return ticket.
Applicants may also need additional documents depending on their nationality and the type of visa they are applying for. For example, applicants from certain countries may need an invitation letter from someone in Bahrain or proof that they have been vaccinated against certain diseases.
Fees
The cost of obtaining a visa in Bahrain varies depending on the type of visa and the applicant’s nationality. Tourist visas cost between $20-$30 USD, while business visas cost between $50-$100 USD.
Work visas and student visas cost between $200-$400 USD, while family visas cost between $500-$1000 USD.
