What is a New Zealand Visitor Visa?
A New Zealand visitor visa is a type of travel document that allows citizens of Zambia to enter and stay in New Zealand for up to nine months. The visa is valid for multiple entries, meaning that you can leave and re-enter the country during your stay.
The New Zealand visitor visa is issued by the Immigration New Zealand (INZ) and must be obtained before travelling to the country. It is important to note that this visa does not allow you to work or study in New Zealand.

In order to obtain a New Zealand visitor visa, Zambian citizens must meet certain requirements set by INZ. These include:

- Proof of accommodation, such as hotel reservations or an invitation letter from a host.
- Valid passport, with at least six months validity remaining.
- Return ticket, or proof of funds to purchase one.
- Medical insurance, valid for the duration of your stay in New Zealand.
It is also important to note that all applicants must be free from any criminal convictions, and must not pose any risk to the security or public order of New Zealand.
Application Process for a New Zealand Visitor Visa
The application process for a New Zealand visitor visa consists of two steps: completing an online application form and submitting supporting documents.
Step 1: Online Application Form. The first step is to complete an online application form on the INZ website. This form requires personal information, such as name, date of birth, address, etc., as well as details about your intended stay in New Zealand.
Step 2: Supporting Documents. Once you have completed the online application form, you will need to submit supporting documents, such as proof of financial stability, proof of accommodation, valid passport, return ticket or proof of funds, and medical insurance. All documents must be submitted in English or translated into English by an authorised translator.
