Zimbabwe Travel: Entry requirements
Visa Requirements
Travellers from most countries require a visa to enter Zimbabwe. The type of visa required depends on the purpose of your visit and the length of your stay. For short-term visits, such as tourism or business trips, travellers can apply for a Zimbabwe eVisa. The eVisa is an electronic travel authorization that allows eligible travellers to enter Zimbabwe for up to 90 days. In addition to the eVisa, travellers may also be required to obtain a physical visa from a Zimbabwean embassy or consulate prior to their arrival in the country. Depending on the purpose of your visit and your nationality, you may be eligible for a single-entry or multiple-entry visa.
Health Requirements
All travellers entering Zimbabwe are required to present proof of yellow fever vaccination upon arrival in the country. It is recommended that all travellers have up-to-date vaccinations against common illnesses such as measles, mumps, rubella, polio, tetanus and diphtheria.
It is also important to note that medical facilities in Zimbabwe are limited and may not meet international standards. Therefore it is recommended that all travellers have adequate health insurance coverage before travelling to Zimbabwe.
Entry Documents
When entering Zimbabwe, all travellers must present a valid passport with at least six months validity remaining from the date of entry into the country. In addition, visitors must also present proof of onward travel (e.g., return ticket) and sufficient funds for their stay in Zimbabwe.
It is important to note that visitors who do not meet these requirements may be refused entry into Zimbabwe.
Customs Regulations
Travellers entering Zimbabwe are allowed to bring certain items into the country duty-free, including personal effects such as clothing and toiletries; one litre of spirits; two litres of wine; 200 cigarettes; 50 cigars; 250 grams of tobacco; and gifts up to a value of $200 USD.
It is prohibited to bring firearms or ammunition into Zimbabwe without prior permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
