US Visa for Lithuanians
Overview
The United States has a variety of visas available for citizens of Lithuania. Depending on the purpose of your trip, you may be eligible for a tourist visa, student visa, work visa or other type of visa. The most common type of visa is the B-1/B-2 visitor visa, which allows you to stay in the US for up to six months.
In order to apply for a US visa, you must first complete an online application form. Once your application is approved, you will need to attend an interview at the US Embassy in Vilnius. During the interview, you will be asked questions about your background and reasons for travelling to the US.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a US visa, you must meet certain criteria. You must have a valid passport with at least six months validity remaining and have no criminal record or history of immigration violations in the US.
You must also demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to cover your expenses while in the US and that you intend to return to Lithuania after your visit. If you are applying for a student or work visa, additional requirements may apply.
Documents Required
When applying for a US visa, you will need to submit several documents as part of your application. These include: a valid passport, two recent passport-sized photographs, proof of financial support (such as bank statements), evidence of ties to Lithuania (such as employment records) and any other relevant documents.
You may also need to provide additional documents depending on the type of visa you are applying for. For example, if you are applying for a student visa, you will need to provide proof of acceptance into an educational institution in the US.
Application Process
Once all required documents have been submitted, your application will be reviewed by the US Embassy in Vilnius. If approved, you will be invited to attend an interview at the embassy where further questions may be asked about your background and reasons for travelling to the US.
If your application is successful, you will receive an approval letter from the embassy which will allow you to travel to the US. It is important to note that all travellers from Lithuania must obtain an USA ESTA, even if they already hold a valid US visa.
