Types of Visas
Uganda offers several types of visas depending on your purpose of travel. The most common type is the tourist visa, which allows you to stay in the country for up to 90 days. Other types include business visas, student visas, and transit visas.
The cost of each type of visa varies depending on your nationality and the length of your stay. For example, a tourist visa for US citizens costs $50 for a single entry or $100 for multiple entries.
How to Apply
You can apply for a Uganda visa online through the Uganda eVisa website at Uganda eVisa. The application process is simple and straightforward and takes only a few minutes to complete.
When applying, you will need to provide some basic information such as your name, date of birth, passport details, and travel plans. You will also need to pay the visa fee using a credit or debit card.
Processing Time
Once your application has been submitted, it usually takes about 3-5 business days for it to be processed and approved by the Ugandan government.
Once approved, you will receive an email with your eVisa attached as a PDF file. You must print out this document and present it upon arrival in Uganda.
Validity Period
Tourist visas, once issued, are valid for 90 days from the date of issue. This means that you must enter Uganda within 90 days of receiving your eVisa or it will expire.
It is important to note that once you have entered Uganda with your eVisa, you cannot extend its validity period or change its status (e.g., from tourist to business). If you wish to stay longer than 90 days or change your visa status, you must apply for a new visa before your current one expires.
