Types of Visas for Tajikistan
Tajikistan offers several types of visas for travelers, including tourist visas, business visas, and transit visas. Tourist visas are valid for up to 30 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days. Business visas are valid for up to 90 days and can also be extended. Transit visas are valid for up to 5 days.
Note: All visitors must have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining from the date of entry into Tajikistan.
Visa Requirements
In order to obtain a visa for Tajikistan, travelers must submit an application form along with their passport and other required documents. Depending on the type of visa, additional documents may be required such as proof of employment or invitation letters from sponsors in Tajikistan.
Note: Citizens of some countries may be eligible for a Tajikistan eVisa, which allows them to enter the country without having to apply for a traditional visa.
Visa Fees
The cost of a visa varies depending on the type of visa and the length of stay. Tourist visas typically cost around $50 USD, while business visas can cost up to $200 USD. Transit visas are usually free.
Note: Visa fees must be paid in cash at the time of application.
Visa Extensions
Visitors who wish to extend their stay in Tajikistan beyond the initial period must apply for an extension at least one week before their visa expires. Extensions can be granted for up to 90 days and must be applied for in person at the Department of Migration and Citizenship in Dushanbe.
Note: Extensions are not guaranteed and will only be granted if there is sufficient justification.
