Types of Visas
South Korea offers different types of visas depending on the purpose of your visit. The most common are tourist visas, business visas, student visas and working visas. Tourist visas are issued for short-term stays, while business and student visas are issued for longer stays. Working visas are issued for those who want to work in South Korea.
It is important to note that all foreign nationals must obtain a valid visa before entering South Korea. Depending on your nationality, you may be eligible for a visa-free entry or an eVisa. Requirements
The requirements for obtaining a visa vary depending on the type of visa and your nationality. Generally, all applicants must submit a valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining from the date of arrival in South Korea, as well as other documents such as proof of financial means and travel itinerary.
In addition, some applicants may be required to provide additional documents such as bank statements, employment letters or invitation letters from family members or friends in South Korea.
Application Process
The application process for a South Korean visa depends on the type of visa and your nationality. For most nationalities, the application process involves submitting an online application form and paying the applicable fee.
For certain nationalities, it is also possible to apply for an eVisa (K-ETA) through South Korea K-ETA. This is an electronic travel authorization which allows eligible travelers to enter South Korea without having to apply for a regular visa.
Processing Time
The processing time for a South Korean visa varies depending on the type of visa and your nationality. Generally, it takes up to 10 working days for applications to be processed.
However, if you are applying for an eVisa (K-ETA), it usually takes only 1-3 working days for applications to be processed.
