Moldova visa policy
Overview
Moldova is a small country located in Eastern Europe, bordered by Romania and Ukraine. It is part of the European Union’s Schengen Area, which allows citizens of certain countries to travel freely within the area without a visa. However, citizens of other countries must obtain a visa before entering Moldova.
The Moldovan government has implemented an electronic visa system (eVisa) for citizens of certain countries who wish to visit Moldova for tourism or business purposes. The eVisa is valid for 90 days and allows travelers to stay in Moldova for up to 30 days.
Eligibility
The Moldovan eVisa is available to citizens of over 100 countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, and most European countries. To be eligible for a Moldovan eVisa, applicants must have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining from the date of arrival in Moldova.
In addition, applicants must have proof of sufficient funds to cover their stay in Moldova and proof of medical insurance that covers them during their stay in the country.
Application Process
The application process for a Moldovan eVisa is simple and straightforward. Applicants must complete an online application form on the Moldova eVisa website and submit it along with supporting documents such as a copy of their passport and proof of medical insurance.
Once the application is submitted, it will be processed within 3-5 business days and applicants will receive an email notification when their eVisa has been approved.
Fees
The cost of a Moldovan eVisa depends on the type of visa applied for and the processing time chosen by the applicant. The standard processing time is 3-5 business days and costs $60 USD. For expedited processing (1-3 business days), there is an additional fee of $30 USD.
Applicants are also required to pay a service fee when submitting their application online.
