What is a Visa on Arrival?
A Visa on Arrival (VoA) is a type of visa that allows travellers to enter and stay in Laos for up to 15 days without having to apply for an eVisa beforehand. VoAs are available at all international airports in Laos, as well as some land border crossings with Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
To obtain a VoA, travellers must present their passport and two passport-sized photos at the immigration counter upon arrival in Laos. They must also pay a fee of $35 USD per person in cash or credit card. It is important to note that VoAs are only valid for single entry into Laos and cannot be extended or renewed.
Requirements for Both Visas
All travellers entering Laos must have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining from their date of entry.
In addition, they must have proof of onward travel (e.g., flight ticket) and sufficient funds (at least $50 USD per day) to cover their stay in the country.
