Iran visa validity
Types of Visas
There are several types of visas available for travelers visiting Iran, including tourist visas, business visas and student visas. Tourist visas are valid for up to 30 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days if needed. Business visas are valid for up to 90 days and can also be extended if necessary. Student visas are valid for up to one year and can be renewed annually.
It is important to note that all types of visas require a valid passport with at least six months remaining before expiration. Additionally, some countries may require a visa invitation letter from an Iranian sponsor in order to obtain a visa.
Validity Periods
The validity period of a visa depends on the type of visa issued and the country issuing it. For example, tourist visas issued by the United States are typically valid for up to three months, while those issued by Canada are usually valid for up to six months.
Business visas issued by the United States are typically valid for up to one year, while those issued by Canada are usually valid for up to two years. Student visas issued by both countries are typically valid for up to five years.
Applying for a Visa
In order to apply for a visa, travelers must submit an application form along with supporting documents such as a passport, proof of financial means and proof of travel insurance. Depending on the country issuing the visa, applicants may also need to provide additional documents such as a letter of invitation from an Iranian sponsor.
Travelers can apply for their visa online through Iran eVisa. The process is simple and straightforward and applicants will receive their visa within 3-5 business days.
Extending Your Visa
If you need more time in Iran than your initial visa allows, you can extend your visa at any local police station or immigration office in Iran. The extension process is relatively straightforward but it is important to note that extensions cannot exceed the original validity period of your visa.
It is also important to note that extensions must be applied for at least two weeks before your current visa expires in order to avoid any penalties or fines.
