Indian Medical Visa for Citizens of Kenya: How to apply for it
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for an Indian Medical Visa, you must meet certain criteria. Firstly, you must be a citizen of Kenya and have a valid passport from your country of origin. Secondly, you must be travelling to India for medical treatment or check-up at a recognised hospital or medical institution in India. Lastly, you must have a letter from the hospital or medical institution in India confirming your appointment.
It is important to note that if you are travelling with family members, they will also need to apply for an Indian Medical Visa. Additionally, if you are travelling with children under 18 years old, they will need to provide additional documents such as birth certificates and parental consent forms.
Application Process
The application process for an Indian Medical Visa is relatively straightforward. Firstly, you will need to fill out the online application form on India e-Visa. You will then need to upload the required documents such as your passport and letter from the hospital or medical institution in India confirming your appointment.
Once your application has been submitted, it will be processed by the Indian government and you will receive an email notification when your visa has been approved. Once approved, you can travel to India and present your visa upon arrival at the airport.
Validity Period
The validity period of an Indian Medical Visa depends on the duration of your stay in India. If you are staying in India for up to 30 days, then your visa will be valid for 60 days from the date of issue. If you are staying in India for more than 30 days but less than 180 days, then your visa will be valid for 1 year from the date of issue.
It is important to note that once issued, an Indian Medical Visa cannot be extended or renewed.
Fees
The fee for an Indian Medical Visa varies depending on the duration of your stay in India and whether or not it is single entry or multiple entry visa. For stays up to 30 days, the fee is USD 80 per person while for stays between 31-180 days it is USD 150 per person.
