Countries that do not require a visa to enter Madagascar
European Union Countries
Citizens of European Union countries do not need a visa to enter Madagascar. This includes citizens of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
The maximum stay allowed for EU citizens is 90 days without a visa. If you plan to stay longer than 90 days then you will need to apply for a Madagascar eVisa.
African Countries
Citizens of African countries do not need a visa to enter Madagascar either. This includes citizens of Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana Burkina Faso Burundi Cameroon Cape Verde Central African Republic Chad Comoros Congo Cote d’Ivoire Democratic Republic of Congo Djibouti Egypt Equatorial Guinea Eritrea Ethiopia Gabon Gambia Ghana Guinea Guinea-Bissau Kenya Lesotho Liberia Libya Madagascar Malawi Mali Mauritania Mauritius Morocco Mozambique Namibia Niger Nigeria Rwanda Sao Tome and Principe Senegal Seychelles Sierra Leone Somalia South Africa South Sudan Sudan Swaziland Tanzania Togo Tunisia Uganda Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Other Countries
Citizens of other countries may also be able to enter Madagascar without a visa depending on their nationality and the purpose of their visit. These include citizens of Australia, Canada and the United States.
The maximum stay allowed for these citizens is also 90 days without a visa. If you plan to stay longer than 90 days then you will need to apply for a Madagascar eVisa.
Requirements
All visitors must have:
- A valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining from the date of entry into Madagascar.
- Proof of onward or return travel arrangements.
- Proof of sufficient funds (at least USD 100 per day).
In addition:
- Visitors from certain countries may also be required to provide proof of yellow fever vaccination.
- Visitors who are staying in Madagascar for more than 30 days must register with the local authorities within 15 days of arrival.
